Don't worry, this game has been and will always be free. I run this website as a hobby, not a job, not to make money. In fact, I lose money every year, but that happens with most hobbies. Why should you donate? If you enjoyed the game and would like to help support this hobby, feel free. There's a button at the bottom.

Perks? What? -- Yes. In time, there will be special privileges and items available to people who donate. This is to encourage donations and to allow you to feel like you got something in return.

Ideas:

• "[Donator]" In front of your name in the game's chat system
• Special donator only areas in the game
• Player owned houses in cities (Not in the housing areas like normal player owned houses)
• Player owned shops: Set an NPC to buy or sell goods for you while you sleep
• Donations of $10 or more will all receive 5 scrolls that allow you to teleport to a preset map.
• Donator only section on the forums
• Priority support, attention, etc. Suggestions, bugs, and other topics will be reviewed faster.

As stated, these are ideas and are not yet implemented. If you have something to suggest regarding donations, post on the forums. You don't even have to register.

For the curious, this site costs exactly $142/yr to run. The actual game server is currently run off of a mini dedicated machine of sorts, which is much cheaper than a dedicated, but it can still be quite expensive, mostly if I have to upgrade my resource allocation.
